['mɪkɪ maʊs], deutsch Micky Maus, Mickymaus, Zeichentrickfigur von W. Disney. Der erste M.-M.-Film (»Plane Crazy«, Phasenzeichner Ub Iwerks) wurde bereits im Mai 1928 fertig gestellt, der erste M.-M.-Film in den Kinos war allerdings der am 18. 11. 1928 uraufgeführte »Steamboat Willie«, zugleich der erste Zeichentrick-Tonfilm. Vom 13. 1. 1930 an erschienen auch Mickey-Mouse-Comicstrips, getextet von W. Disney, gezeichnet von Ub Iwerks und Win Smith. Die weiteren Folgen wurden bis Oktober 1975 entscheidend von Floyd Gottfredson (* 1905, ✝ 1986) unter Mitarbeit verschiedener Zeichner und Texter geprägt. 1931 erschienen das erste Buch und die ersten Heftausgaben; in Deutschland erschien Mickey Mouse erstmals 1930 als Beitrag in der »Kölner Illustrierten Zeitung«, 1937 folgte dann die »Mickey Mouse Zeitung« in der Schweiz; seit 1951 ist die im Ehapa-Verlag (Stuttgart) erscheinende »Mickey Mouse« das auflagenstärkste deutsche Comic-Heft.
